Unge kandidater søger pladser i den svenske rigsdag

18-årige Felix Pettersson fra Halmstad og 20-årige Vera Gustafsson fra Strömstad stiller op til rigsdagsvalg for henholdsvis Centerpartiet og Moderaterna. De har til formål at øge ungdomsrepræsentationen i politik, hvor unge er stærkt underrepræsenterede. Socialdemokraten Aida Birinxhiku, 26, sidder allerede i rigsdagen og understreger værdien af unge perspektiver.

Felix Pettersson, 18 og gymnasieelev i Halmstad, topper Centerpartiets liste i Halland til både rigsdag og region. Han er formand for Cuf i distriktet og står som nummer fem på listen. "Det er et demokratisk problem. Vi unge får lov til at stemme, så vi træffer beslutninger på den måde. Selvfølgelig bør vi også være repræsenterede," siger han.

Vera Gustafsson, 20 fra Strömstad, er fjerde kandidat på Moderaternas rigsdagsliste i det nordlige Västra Götaland. Hun aftjener værnepligt som kampvognsfører og fremhæver frihed under ansvar. "Det er meget trist at høre [om de manglende klimamål], især som ung. Det er vores fremtid," siger hun om klimaet.

Aida Birinxhiku, 26 fra Falkenberg, blev valgt som en af rigsdagens yngste i 2022. Hun sidder i EU-udvalget og kritiserer den polariserede debat tone. "Jeg tror ikke, at alle unge mennesker ønsker at være influencere eller børshandlere," siger hun om unges engagement.

Unge er underrepræsenterede: Kun 2,5 procent af de kommunalpolitikere, der blev valgt i 2022, var under 25 år, og endnu færre var det i regionerne og rigsdagen. Generaldirektør for Mucf, Magnus Jäderskog, fremhæver vigtigheden af repræsentation for demokratiet. Alle tre efterlyser bedre vilkår for unge, såsom offentlig transport og boliger.
