Zara Larsson achieves back-to-back Pop Airplay No. 1s

Zara Larsson has scored her second consecutive No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart with “Midnight Sun.” The track rises three spots to top the ranking dated June 27. It follows her collaboration “Stateside” with PinkPantheress, which led the previous week.

Larsson becomes the first artist to land two new Pop Airplay leaders in consecutive weeks since the chart began in 1992. She joins a short list of acts that have replaced themselves at the summit, though none achieved two fresh No. 1s within a two-week span.

The Swedish singer also maintains four simultaneous entries on the chart this week. Alongside the new leader and “Stateside” at No. 2, Tyla’s “She Did It Again” featuring Larsson and her 2016 single “Lush Life” remain on the list.

“Midnight Sun” serves as the title track to Larsson’s fifth studio album, which reached the top five on Top Dance Albums and the top 40 of the Billboard 200 in May. Larsson described the moment as a career highlight after a decade in the industry.

“All charts dated June 27 will update on Billboard.com Tuesday, June 23,” the publication noted.
