Amazon Game Studios laid off thousands last October and canceled Project Trident along with its Lord of the Rings MMO after developers scrambled to incorporate generative AI.

The developers of New World have indicated that the game's end is foreseeable in the coming months. Despite this, they plan to release additional updates before closure. This announcement comes amid ongoing support for the MMORPG.

Amazon Game Studios has terminated its publishing agreement with Maverick Games for an upcoming narrative-led racing game. The decision aligns with Amazon's shift away from triple-A titles toward projects like Luna and Tomb Raider. Maverick Games, founded by former Forza Horizon developers, is seeking a new publisher while continuing development.

Crystal Dynamics has been developing a new Tomb Raider game since early 2022 using Unreal Engine 5, but updates have been sparse. Amazon will publish the title, which features a more mature Lara Croft. Recent leaks suggest an open-world setting in India, though the project faces studio challenges.
