AEW champion MJF provides update on knee injury

AEW World Champion MJF has given fans an update on his hyperextended left knee, which he suffered during a June 3 match on Dynamite.

MJF hyperextended his knee in a no count out title defense against Rush on the June 3 episode of AEW Dynamite. The injury led to him being pulled from a scheduled Beyond Wrestling appearance two days later. On June 9, the champion posted a video from his Nordic Wave cold plunge tub on Instagram. He said the swelling had gone down but there remained a large amount of inflammation and pain. Without the cold plunge, I do believe it would have taken me a lot longer to start feeling like myself, MJF stated. He added that he does not expect to miss any time and credited the device with aiding his recovery. The champion remains scheduled to appear on the next episode of Dynamite, and his plans for the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event are unchanged.
