Colt Gray pleaded guilty on Friday morning to all 55 charges stemming from the 2024 shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia. The 16-year-old admitted guilt in a non-negotiated plea that leaves sentencing to the judge.
Gray was charged as an adult with malice murder, aggravated battery and aggravated assault for killing two students and two teachers and wounding nine others. The minimum sentence is life with parole and the maximum is life without parole.
The hearing in Columbia County included emotional testimony from victims' families and survivors. Prosecutors presented evidence from notebooks and a cellphone showing the attack had been planned in advance.
Gray's father, Colin Gray, was convicted earlier on related charges. His sentencing is scheduled for July 30. The current sentencing hearing for Colt Gray is set to resume on Monday.
