WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis will face GUNTHER at SummerSlam 2026 after an on-screen confrontation. The announcement followed Aldis interfering in a match at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Nick Aldis last competed in 2023 before taking the General Manager role. At the SummerSlam 2026 Kickoff Show, GUNTHER confronted Aldis, prompting Paul "Triple H" Levesque to book the match.
Booker T discussed the bout on the "Hall of Fame" podcast. "I like it, man. I really do, because Nick Aldis wasn't ready to step away from the ring when he came over to WWE," he said.
Booker T added that Aldis has a "James Bond feel" and praised GUNTHER as the ideal opponent. "It's no secret that GUNTHER is a hell of a guy to go out and be able to get the job done with anybody," he stated.
The two-night SummerSlam event is scheduled for later this summer.
