Central Saint Martins holds BA show in Peckham for first time in 15 years

Central Saint Martins moved its BA graduate fashion show to Peckham this year, marking the first time in 15 years the event has left its usual King's Cross venue. The show featured work from 40 designers representing at least 27 countries and took place in a converted parking garage. Students presented collections exploring personal identities and real-world themes amid stormy weather.

The event drew friends, family, editors and alumni to the south London space. Course leader Sarah Gresty said the graduates focused on personal storytelling rather than commercial demands. Ukrainian designer Polina Kadilnikova opened the show with pieces inspired by her travels home and won first prize by popular vote. Her collection included a helmet-wearing model and a tin dress referencing conflict and care.
