The Institut Français de la Mode graduate show opened the Paris fashion season with 27 student designers presenting their spring 2027 ready-to-wear collections.
Executives from LVMH, Kering and Hermès attended alongside Celine artistic director Michael Rider, who will select one graduate for an internship at the house.
The 27 finalists, chosen from 66 students, showed 162 looks at Les Docks. Designers represented countries including France, Russia, Vietnam and Sweden.
Common themes included bold color clashes, gender-fluid proportions and deconstructed tailoring. Saulė Milonaitė presented a humorous “bread-a-porter” collection while other students explored identity, Black culture and textile manipulation.
Course directors Thierry Rondenet and Hervé Yvrenogeau noted the emphasis on handmade techniques. Students ended the show wearing slogan T-shirts reading “YOUR SILENCE IS POLITICAL.”
