Disney World honors three sisters for National Siblings Day

Disney World celebrated National Siblings Day on April 10 by spotlighting three sisters who work as cast members at the resort. Kate, Brittany, and Rachel Hackett followed their grandmother's footsteps into Disney careers after childhood visits. The family tradition extends to other relatives also employed there.

The Hackett sisters began their connection to Disney World as children, visiting frequently with their grandmother, a seasonal merchandise cast member for 27 years. Those trips included holiday visits to the Candlelight Processional, where their grandmother performed in the cast choir. The sisters later joined the choir themselves, deepening their ties to the resort. Kate Hackett said, “We were very fortunate to spend so much time at Disney World as children. Our grandmother really shaped those memories for us.” Brittany Hackett was the first to join Disney, moving from New Jersey to Florida for school and taking a part-time role. Her sisters followed, each in distinct positions: Kate in food and beverage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which led her to culinary school; Brittany as an entertainment scheduling specialist; and Rachel in Disney character events, coordinating character appearances across the resort. Recently, the three worked together on an event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, their first joint project in over six years. The family's Disney involvement runs deeper, with two uncles and an aunt also serving as cast members. Michelle Stewart, manager of cast activities engagement and strategy, said, “We are grateful to be a place where careers often begin with family and grow into long-term journeys rooted in opportunity and purpose.”
