The Los Angeles Dodgers shared new details on the recovery timelines for three key players dealing with injuries. Blake Snell and Edwin Díaz have begun bullpen sessions, while Will Smith remains sidelined with neck inflammation.
Blake Snell threw a 15-pitch all-fastball bullpen session on June 26. It marked his first such workout since mid-May elbow surgery. Manager Dave Roberts said Snell will need at least four more bullpens before facing hitters and is not expected back before the All-Star break.
Edwin Díaz also threw a bullpen session on June 26 after his late-April elbow procedure. Roberts indicated Díaz should return sometime after the All-Star break and will likely need multiple bullpens plus a short minor-league rehab stint.
Will Smith has not resumed baseball activities due to neck inflammation. The catcher is unlikely to rejoin the team when it starts its next homestand on July 2. Smith landed on the injured list on June 11 after missing four games.
