Eric Ebron kritisiert Matt Canada wegen Seven-Shots-Übung

Ebron erinnerte sich an Canadas Entscheidung, bei einer Trainingseinheit für die Goal-Line-Situation den Ball zu laufen, anstatt Passspielzüge zu üben.

Ebron sprach in Cam Heywards Podcast „Not Just Football“. Er beschrieb dabei Canadas Ansatz während der „Seven Shots“-Übung, die Mike Tomlin das Team traditionell von der 2-Yard-Linie aus absolvieren lässt.

„Manchmal redet der Offensive Coordinator Unsinn“, sagte Ebron. „Da war dieser kahle Typ, Matt Canada... Ich dachte mir: ‚Alter, das hier ist Seven Shots. Warum zum Teufel versuchen wir, den Ball zu laufen? Wir versuchen zu punkten.‘“

Canada war von 2021 bis 2023 als Offensive Coordinator der Steelers tätig. In diesen Spielzeiten belegte die Offense des Teams in der Scoring-Statistik jeweils den 23., 23. und 25. Platz.
