Former Steelers tight end Eric Ebron expressed frustration with ex-offensive coordinator Matt Canada during a Wednesday podcast appearance. Ebron recalled Canada's decision to run the ball in a goal-line drill meant for scoring practice.
Ebron spoke on Cam Heyward’s Not Just Football podcast. He described Canada’s approach during the Seven Shots drill, which Mike Tomlin has the team run from the 2-yard line.
“Sometimes the OC be on bullshit,” Ebron said. “We had bald bro, Matt Canada…I’m like, ‘Dude, this is Seven Shots. Why the fuck are we trying to run the ball? We’re trying to score.’”
Canada served as the Steelers’ offensive coordinator from 2021 to 2023. The team’s offense ranked 23rd, 23rd, and 25th in scoring during those seasons.
