Florida woman charged with stabbing friend in Uber

A Miami woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing her friend with scissors during an argument over drinking beer in an Uber. Lynn Marie Zamora, 32, faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The incident occurred Monday night after Zamora and her friend left the Best Western Plus Kendall Hotel & Suites in Miami. According to police, she wanted to open a beer in the car, but her friend warned her several times that it was not allowed.

Zamora allegedly pulled scissors from her purse and stabbed the man once in the biceps and once in the calf. The Uber driver stopped the vehicle and called 911. The victim was treated at a hospital with staples for his wounds, which were not life-threatening.

Zamora was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Tuesday and is being held on $7,500 bond. She remains on probation from prior battery convictions. A judge denied a request to move her to a hospital during a Wednesday hearing. Her next court date is scheduled for Aug. 12.
