GLOW-Region schickt fünf Einzelne und vier Staffeln zu NYSPHSAA-Hallentrathlon-Meisterschaften

Athleten aus der GLOW-Region schnitten bei den Section V Indoor Track and Field Qualifier-Wettkämpfen an der Nazareth University in Rochester stark ab. Fünf Einzelne und vier Staffelteams qualifizierten sich für die NYSPHSAA-Meisterschaften im Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. Batavia und Bath-Haverling waren unter den Schulen, die mehrere Teilnehmer vorrückten.

Die Section V New York State Public High School Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Qualifier fand am Samstagabend an der Nazareth University in Rochester statt. Top-Performer aus ganz Section V traten an, wobei Athleten aus der GLOW-Region Plätze für die bevorstehenden Landesmeisterschaften sicherten. Im Einzelwettbewerben qualifizierte sich Madelines Smith von Batavia im 55-Meter-Hürdenlauf. Karvel Martino und Brock Bigsby aus Batavia beherrschten die Wurfwettbewerbe und rückten vor. Tim Lamparelli schaffte es im Kugelstoßen weiter, während Zachary Hartz aus Batavia im 600-Meter-Lauf qualifiziert wurde. Staffelteams zeigten besondere Stärke für die GLOW-Region. Das Jungen-4x800-Meter-Staffelteam von Batavia wurde Zweiter und qualifizierte sich. Die Schule schickte auch zwei Mädchenstaffeln zu den Landesmeisterschaften und trug so zu insgesamt vier qualifizierten Staffeln bei. Zusätzlich qualifizierte sich das 4x800-Meter-Staffelteam von Bath-Haverling mit Alexa Wolfe, Madison Cranmer, Zoey Winfield und Emma Schneider für die Meisterschaften. Diese Qualifikationen unterstreichen die Wettkampftiefe im Section V Hallentrathlon und bereiten die Bühne für das Landesmeeting im Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

Several high school teams from Section V claimed titles in the class B indoor track and field championships held in Rochester on Saturday. The Oakfield-Alabama/Elba boys secured their fifth straight victory in class B4, while Perry's girls won their first-ever title in the same division. Batavia swept both boys and girls titles in class B1, and individual athletes from Byron-Bergen and Letchworth triumphed in class B3.

The Batavia indoor track and field team competed at the Monroe County Division 3 Championships in Rochester on Saturday. The boys team secured second place with 108 points, while the girls team took third with 126 points. Several athletes from Batavia earned wins in key events.

Maeve Seeley of Livonia/Avon won the Class B girls giant slalom at the Section V Alpine Skiing Championships held at Bristol Mountain Ski Resort. She also placed third in the slalom event, helping her team secure third place overall in Class B. Seeley is the only athlete from the GLOW region to qualify for the New York State team.

The Lock Haven University women's indoor track and field team competed at two Pennsylvania venues over the weekend, securing several top finishes and qualifying marks for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships. At Susquehanna University on Friday, athletes achieved multiple podium placements, while Saturday's event at Penn State highlighted personal bests in jumping and running events.
