Karur Vysya Bank net profit surges 45 percent to 756 crore rupees

Karur Vysya Bank reported a 45 percent rise in net profit for the first quarter. Earnings reached 756 crore rupees.

The Indian lender also recorded a 36 percent increase in pre-provision operating profit. Net interest income grew 32 percent during the same period.

Gross non-performing assets rose slightly, indicating a minor slip in asset quality.

The results reflect stronger core earnings despite the small uptick in bad loans.
