Legend in the Mist launches Hearts of Ravensdale campaign book

Son of Oak has released Hearts of Ravensdale, the first campaign setting book for the rising RPG Legend in the Mist. This book introduces a rustic fantasy world called the Dales, complete with new rules and character options. It is now available for pre-order on DriveThruRPG.

The tabletop role-playing game Legend in the Mist, known for its rustic fantasy style blending folklore and myth, has gained popularity since its introduction last year. Son of Oak, the game's publisher, announced the pre-order for Hearts of Ravensdale on March 11, 2026. This marks the first dedicated campaign setting for the system, expanding its narrative-driven mechanics into a lore-rich environment.

Hearts of Ravensdale focuses on the Dales, a land where ordinary villagers such as farmers, hunters, herbalists, and peddlers coexist with nature and the Unseen, home to Creatures of Twilight. The book describes a longstanding peace now ending, prompting players to journey across the Dales, uncover secrets of the kingdom of Old Gwyrdolin, learn Oldways folk magic, and confront strange creatures to protect their homes.

Key additions include solo play support for all content, 30 new tropes, and 120 Theme Kits for creating Dalish heroes. It also features new rules like Thaumaturgy, presented as a secret unlockable path, and a full campaign. As the book states: “Hearts of Ravensdale takes the narrative system of Legend In The Mist and builds an enchanting, rugged, and lore-rich Rustic Fantasy setting for you to explore – on your own or with friends.”

This release highlights the growing interest in rustic fantasy RPGs, offering players cozy yet shadowy adventures at the edge of familiar woods.
