A 25-year-old man faces attempted murder charges after allegedly attacking his host during a dinner at an apartment in Albertville, Alabama.
On June 12, Jonathan Blake Chaney, 30, was cooking steaks and watching television with Nicolas Trombetta at Chaney's apartment complex. The two men had met recently and Trombetta had been staying there for a few days.
Chaney told WAFF that Trombetta suddenly slit his throat and stabbed him in the back. The victim said he fought back, thinking he could not die in that way, and eventually took the knife away.
Albertville police officers responded and found both men at the scene. They recovered a blood-covered kitchen knife from the bedroom. An investigator noted that Trombetta had turned a security camera away two hours before the attack.
Trombetta is being held without bond at the Marshall County Jail.
