Mans presented its fall 2026 collection in Spain, returning to menswear tailoring after a foray into womenswear. Creative director Jaime Álvarez described the shift as liberating, with the butterfly motif symbolizing metamorphosis. The designs draw from Vincent van Gogh and Cristóbal Balenciaga, featuring bold volumes and vibrant colors.
Mans showcased its fall 2026 collection under the theme 'Back to the Roots,' refocusing on menswear after exploring womenswear in 2023. 'I felt I had lost a bit of the brand’s DNA. Returning to menswear has been incredibly liberating. I think this was my destiny, even if women end up wearing it too,' Álvarez said after the show. The butterfly emerged as a central symbol following a patterning error on a vest with an overly long neckline, guiding the collection's color palette and fabric flows. Álvarez cited Vincent van Gogh’s butterflies as inspiration: 'I’ve always been deeply aligned with his Impressionist brushwork; it feels like a style in constant motion.' References to Cristóbal Balenciaga appear in the collars and backs of sculptural pieces. The designer reinterpreted his grandfather’s pharmacist coat using pleated cotton, emphasizing volume in leather jackets and silk-poplin shirts. Softer elements include silk georgette and wild silks. Vests feature obi sash interpretations with tassels from Casa Rodríguez, experts in religious ornaments. The palette spans purple, navy blue, Álvarez’s signature dark forest green, bougainvillea pink, light green, red, lilac, and aqua. Álvarez encouraged playful styling through bold patterns, unexpected sleeve openings, and layering.
