Microsoft removes Together mode from Teams meetings

Microsoft is phasing out the Together mode feature in its Teams video platform. The company cited added complexity and performance issues as reasons for the change. Users will instead be directed to the standard gallery view.

Microsoft introduced the Together mode in Teams during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. The feature was designed to simulate a shared physical space for remote participants by placing them in a common virtual room. It is now being discontinued as many employees have returned to offices.
