Niall Horan hat angekündigt, dass sein viertes Soloalbum fertig ist, sein erstes Projekt seit The Show von 2023. Der Sänger teilte die Neuigkeit in sozialen Medien mit Fotos und Musik-Snippets, wobei Titel und Veröffentlichungsdatum noch geheim sind. Er teasert neues Material seit Januar.
Niall Horan, ehemaliges Mitglied von One Direction, postete am 26. Februar 2026 auf seinen Social-Media-Konten und erklärte: „Album is DONE.“ Das Update enthielt eine Reihe von Fotos sowie zwei kurze Audioclips: einen mit sanfter Akustikgitarre und einen, der seine Hände am Klavier zeigt. Diese bevorstehende Veröffentlichung wird Horans viertes Soloalbum sein, nach The Show von 2023, das nach seiner Ankündigung einer Pause erschien. Horan deutet das ganze Jahr über neue Musik an. Am 22. Januar teilte er ein Video, das Studiozeit bestätigt, und am 14. Januar postete er Aufnahmen von sich am Mikrofon mit Musikern und legte eine Fanfrage zum Album mit seiner Antwort darüber: „Just a little more time.“ Im Gespräch mit der Hits Radio Breakfast Show mit Fleur East sagte Horan: „I’m in here finishing it right now… So I’m in the beat lab. I’m just finishing off some vocal bits and things like that, that I wasn’t happy with, but yeah… I should have music sometime this year. And I’m very excited about it!“ Das Album wird später im Jahr 2026 erwartet. Kürzlich arbeitete Horan mit Myles Smith an „Drive Safe“ zusammen, das früher diesen Monat erschien. Letzten Herbst war er auf einer neuen Version von Thomas Rhetts „Old Tricks“ zu hören und erklärte: „It came on and I was instantly hooked… I told Thomas Rhett straight up I was gutted he didn’t ask me to jump on it. I just loved everything about it, it’s a proper country song.“ 2023 feierte Horan den fünften Jahrestag seines 2020er-Albums Heartbreak Weather mit unveröffentlichten Tracks „Dress“ und „Nothing“ sowie Live-Aufnahmen und sagte: „I can’t thank you enough for the love and support you’ve continued to show for this album all these years later.“ In einem 2023er-Interview mit Hot Press reflektierte Horan über seine Wurzeln und sprach über seine Heimatstadt Mullingar in Irland: „Every time I go back I’m like, ‘Thank God I grew up here.’ … Having travelled the world, I now realise, years later, how lucky we were to have an Irish upbringing. It’s the best upbringing you can ask for.“
