North Carolina man charged with failing to report father's death

Theron Gregory Tuttle, 55, faces charges after police found his 96-year-old father dead in their shared home in Dallas, North Carolina. Authorities allege the body had been there for days before the son reported the death on Father's Day.

Theron Gregory Tuttle was arrested Sunday and charged with failing to report a death. He posted a $15,000 bond and is scheduled for a probable cause hearing on July 15.

Police say the younger Tuttle was his father's caregiver and lived with Thomas Tuttle Sr. at the home. An autopsy is underway to determine the cause of death and establish a more precise timeline.

Tuttle denied the allegations in an interview, stating he called 911 immediately after discovering his father's body. He described his father, a Korean War veteran, as someone who had always supported him.

A neighbor told local station WSOC that Thomas Tuttle Sr. had lived in the home for decades and called the situation sad. The neighbor said the elder Tuttle had never caused any trouble.
