Ohio man charged with strangling daughter in bedroom dispute

Jeffrey Canzonetta, 56, was arrested after allegedly strangling his adult daughter during an argument over the cleanliness of her bedroom at the family home in Vienna Township, Ohio.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at the residence on Warner Road, roughly 60 miles northeast of Akron. Deputies responded to a domestic violence call around 1:30 p.m. and spoke with the victim, who said Canzonetta had commented negatively on the messy room before moving closer and refusing to leave when asked. The confrontation escalated when he pushed both his daughter and wife, then grabbed his daughter by the neck and squeezed until she could not breathe, according to the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office report.
