Pennsylvania woman sentenced for child endangerment

Alyssa Kithcart was sentenced to three months in prison and three years of probation after pleading guilty to endangering the welfare of a child.

Kithcart, 26, admitted she did not report her boyfriend's abuse of his three-year-old daughter or seek medical help for the girl. Bradford County court records show other charges against her were dismissed. The case began on May 20, 2025, when Athens police responded to a home on East Frederick Street. First responders found the child unconscious with signs of severe malnourishment and multiple injuries, including a broken collarbone. Kithcart is now in the Bradford County Correctional Facility with her boyfriend, Dalton Sweat, 27. His case remains ongoing, with a pretrial conference scheduled for June 23. Medical staff said the child suffered permanent brain damage and will never fully recover.
