Reiterin absolviert fehlerfreien Ritt beim ersten britischen Wettbewerb ohne Trense

Serena Kullich absolvierte am 31. Mai bei der ersten britischen Bridleless Competition einen fehlerfreien Ritt über einen 1,20-Meter-Parcours. Die Veranstaltung in Merrist Wood zählte mehr als 20 Kombinationen und stieß auf eine sehr positive Resonanz.

Kullich ritt Silas VTS ohne Trense. Das Paar hat sich für das Talent Seekers-Finale bei der Horse of the Year Show 2026 qualifiziert. Sie sagte gegenüber Horse & Hound, dass sich der Tag wie der Beginn von etwas sehr Aufregendem anfühle. Kullich merkte an, es sei inspirierend gewesen, so viele Reiter in einem formellen Rahmen ohne Trense antreten zu sehen. Der Wettbewerb wurde von Mia Riodley von The Heart of Horsemanship organisiert. Die Reiter berichteten, dass das Arbeiten ohne Trense die Bindung zwischen Mensch und Pferd stärke sowie Entspannung und Vertrauen verbessere.

Sarah Bullimore and her home-bred gelding Corimiro delivered a clear round inside the optimum time to take the lead at the Mars Badminton Horse Trials cross-country phase on 9 May 2026. Holly Richardson and Ballyneety Silver Service were the first pair to complete the course fault-free and inside the 11min 30sec target. Several top riders incurred penalties or suffered falls, reshaping the leaderboard.

The inaugural British Bridleless Competition took place at Merrist Wood on 31 May, featuring showjumping and dressage events without bridles. More than 20 competitors participated, with around 500 spectators in attendance. Organisers described the event as a success that has sparked widespread interest.
