Samsung Galaxy A27 gets redesign and price increase

Samsung announced the Galaxy A27 5G last week with a punch-hole camera design and a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. The phone carries a $50 price increase to $350 ahead of its July 14 US launch.

The Galaxy A27 features a smaller punch-hole for its 12-megapixel selfie camera instead of a notch. It will be sold only in black in the United States while other markets will receive additional colors.

Inside the device is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip paired with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone includes a 5,000-mAh battery with 25-watt wired charging along with rear cameras of 50 megapixels wide, 5 megapixels ultrawide and 2 megapixels macro.

Samsung also promises six years of Android software and security updates. The price rise follows broader increases across affordable phones tied to memory shortages.
