King Carl XVI Gustaf and Silvia Sommerlath married on 19 June 1976 in Storkyrkan in Gamla stan in Stockholm. Today, on 19 June 2026, they have been married for 50 years.

The court marks the day with newly taken photos of the queen. She wears her Öland costume ahead of Midsummer Eve.

The royal couple celebrates midsummer privately at Solliden on Öland. Last week a grand celebration of their golden wedding was held in Stockholm.
