Tesla launches Tesla Home energy platform powered by Opticaster AI

Tesla has introduced Tesla Home, a new home energy management platform that uses its Opticaster AI to optimize electricity use and reduce bills for homeowners.

The platform controls Powerwall batteries, solar systems, Wall Connectors, and smart breakers. It allows users to select goals such as minimizing utility bills or prioritizing self-powered operation from stored solar energy.

Opticaster, the underlying AI engine, has operated for years across Tesla's energy products. It has accumulated over 100 million hours of experience and supports features like forecasting solar production and building personalized energy dispatch strategies.

The update rolled out in Tesla app version 4.58.6 this week. It consolidates controls into a single Home Controls menu and adds a Home Status feature that explains system decisions.

Existing Powerwall owners do not need new hardware to access the platform. It builds on prior integrations including smart breakers and rate-based EV charging.
