Tesla VP Teases July 7 Announcement on Giga Texas Expansion

Tesla vice president of vehicle engineering Lars Moravy has teased significant updates on the company's Austin operations. The announcement is set for Tuesday, July 7.

During an interview with content creators Jeff Lutz and Herbert Ong, Moravy said the company will share cool news about things happening around Giga Texas as part of the scaling effort.

The teaser comes as production activity intensifies at the Texas facility. Giga Texas produces the Cybertruck and is ramping up output of the Cybercab robotaxi.

The Texas Department of Public Safety recently added the Cybercab to its official web page on first responder plans for connected autonomous vehicles. A full broadcast of the interview is scheduled for release on June 30.
