YOASOBI teams up with Asics for Gel-Kinetic Fluent sneaker collection

Japanese pop duo YOASOBI has collaborated with Asics on a three-pair Gel-Kinetic Fluent sneaker collection. The release, inspired by the duo's song 'Just a Little Step,' features unique design elements and is set for March 2026. It marks Asics' effort to blend music culture with its Sportstyle line.

The collaboration between J-Pop duo YOASOBI—consisting of producer Ayase and vocalist ikura—and Asics introduces the YOASOBI x Asics Gel-Kinetic Fluent collection. This three-pair release draws inspiration from the duo's song “Just a Little Step” (もう少しだけ), which themes gradual progress. The design incorporates a zipper tongue and a looping extra pulley lace system made of translucent plastic that circles the shoe and secures at the heel, with a YOASOBI hangtag near the heel pulley. This adds a futuristic touch, reminiscent of the rarely seen GEL-MAI model.

The collection comes in three colorways: black, silver, and navy/pink (described in one report as purple-and-pink). The black and silver pairs use monochrome blends of synthetic, leather, and mesh materials, varying tones across components. The navy/pink version features a dark blue upper base with bright pink accents on the side panel stripe logo, laces, and toe details.

Built on the GEL-Quantum Kinetic platform, the sneakers include Scutoid GEL cushioning in the heel for impact softening and a traditional forefoot setup for daily comfort. Asics positions this partnership as part of its push to integrate music culture into the expanding Sportstyle collection.

The YOASOBI x Asics Gel-Kinetic Fluent will release on March 19, 2026, through Asics and select retailers, both in-store and online. It will be available in unisex sizing, though the retail price remains to be determined. It is unclear if the drop will be international or limited to Japan.
