Das Nationale Exekutivkomitee des kenianischen Fußballverbandes (FKF) hat Präsident Hussein Mohammed, das Mitglied Abdullahi Yussuf Ibrahim und den amtierenden Geschäftsführer Dennis Gicheru wegen Vorwürfen finanzieller Unregelmäßigkeiten in Höhe von 42 Millionen Kenia-Schilling aus CHAN-Mitteln suspendiert. Der stellvertretende Präsident Macdonald Mariga wurde bis zum Abschluss der Untersuchungen zum amtierenden Präsidenten ernannt. Die Entscheidung wurde am 24. April von neun der 14 Mitglieder des Exekutivkomitees getroffen.
