Hong Kong's Health Bureau says 67 of the 79 people injured in the Tai Po fire have recovered and been discharged, with the remaining 12 in stable condition. The blaze claimed at least 161 lives and displaced thousands of residents.
The deadly fire at Wang Fuk Court in Hong Kong's Tai Po district in November claimed at least 161 lives, injured 79 others, and displaced thousands of residents.
As of December 30, 2025, the Health Bureau reported that out of the 79 patients treated at various public hospitals, 67 have recovered and been discharged, while the remaining 12 are in stable condition. The bureau stated: “A total of 79 patients received treatment at various public hospitals due to the fire. As of December 30, 2025, 67 of them had already recovered and were discharged, and the remaining 12 are in stable condition.”
Healthcare staff will continue to provide appropriate treatment and care to these patients. Additionally, more than 300 private medical practitioners have joined a free family doctor service scheme, with 63 affected residents having received free consultations so far.
Eighteen residents obtained free denture replacements at private dental clinics, and 24 were scheduled for Chinese medicine services offered by 360 practitioners.
In the aftermath of the fire, authorities have promptly rolled out medical and support services to aid the recovery of those impacted.
