ABC has renewed the procedural drama 9-1-1 for a tenth season, with new episodes set for fall 2026. The network also greenlit a second season for its spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville. These renewals coincide with the first full crossover between the shows, building on earlier announcements.
The renewals, confirmed by TVLine, mark a milestone for 9-1-1, created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, with Tim Minear returning as showrunner. The series, which moved to ABC after six seasons on Fox (season 7 premiered in 2024), follows Los Angeles first responders. Key cast members include Angela Bassett (Athena Grant), Oliver Stark (Evan "Buck" Buckley), Aisha Hinds (Henrietta "Hen" Wilson), Kenneth Choi (Howie "Chimney" Han), Jennifer Love Hewitt (Maddie Han), Ryan Guzman (Eddie Diaz), Corinne Massiah (May Grant), Elijah M. Cooper (Harry Grant), and Gavin McHugh (Christopher Diaz).
Complementing the renewals is the recently detailed first full-scale crossover with 9-1-1: Nashville. As previously announced (see prior coverage), Buck and Eddie travel to Nashville for the Firefighter Games in a two-part event airing Thursday, March 5, at 8/7c.
Nashville showrunner Rashad Raisani previewed the fun dynamics: "To put it crassly, there's a bit of a hunk-off where Buck and Eddie spend a bunch of time with Blue and Ryan." He noted the surprising chemistry among the characters despite their differences.
