Presenter Alex Escobar suffered a blood pressure spike during a live appearance on Globo's Encontro program and was admitted to a hospital in New Jersey for observation.
The episode took place on Monday morning (22/6) while Escobar was speaking with Patrícia Poeta and providing updates on the Brazilian national team at the World Cup. He was in the United States to cover the tournament.
After feeling unwell, Escobar received initial care and was taken to a regional hospital where he underwent tests. According to Globo Esporte, he is fine but will remain hospitalized overnight as a preventive measure.
On medical advice, the journalist will not join the network team on the trip to Miami. The Brazilian national team faces Scotland on Wednesday (24/6) in the third round of Group C at the World Cup.
