Additionally, two grand martyrdom gates will be constructed in memory of Shaheed Udham Singh, who hailed from Sunam, and around 3,500 households will be connected to sewerage facilities.

During the event, SDM Pramod Singla, along with numerous local residents and officials, were present. Arora paid homage to Shaheed Udham Singh at the memorial and laid the foundation stone. Speaking to mediapersons, he stated that the Punjab government is undertaking the full renovation of the memorial. In response to a question, he urged the Union government to make efforts to bring back Shaheed Udham Singh’s relics and remains to India. He mentioned that he had previously appealed to the BJP-led central government to discuss this with the British government and would request again.

Shaheed Udham Singh, a native of Sunam, fought against British rule. This initiative aims to enhance local development and preserve historical remembrance.
