An arrest warrant has been issued for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk on a misdemeanor speeding charge. The warrant stems from a December video posted by Aiyuk showing him exceeding the speed limit near Levi's Stadium.
The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office issued the warrant after Aiyuk's video appeared on YouTube. Aiyuk later deleted the footage and issued an apology, stating he would no longer include speeding in his car content. Aiyuk has not played since the 2024 season due to a knee injury that required surgery on his ACL, MCL and meniscus. The 49ers placed him on the reserve/left squad list after he declined to participate in rehabilitation, which voided nearly $27 million in contract guarantees for 2026. General manager John Lynch stated in January that Aiyuk had played his last snap for the team. The 49ers have since signed Mike Evans and Christian Kirk while drafting De'Zhaun Stribling and retaining Ricky Pearsall. Lynch has indicated that Aiyuk remains available for trade.
