A clash erupted on April 30 during a public hearing in Sriganganagar, northern Rajasthan, between BJP MLA Jaideep Bihani and officials. The Bharatiya Janata Party government appointed a fact-finding committee, which visited the town on Saturday, May 2, 2026, to investigate.
Three persons, including Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project’s (RUIDP) assistant engineer Jaganlal Bairwa, were arrested after the incident. Bihani has been accused of assaulting the assistant engineer.
Bihani alleged that officials slapped him during a discussion on drinking water issues, damaging his spectacles. The committee is probing the allegations of assault and corruption.
