اندلع اشتباك في 30 أبريل خلال جلسة استماع عامة في سريغانغانغار بشمال ولاية راجستان بين النائب عن حزب بهاراتيا جاناتا جايديب بيهاني ومسؤولين. وشكلت حكومة حزب بهاراتيا جاناتا لجنة لتقصي الحقائق زارت المدينة يوم السبت الموافق 2 مايو 2026 للتحقيق في الواقعة. وتم اعتقال ثلاثة أشخاص، من بينهم المهندس المساعد في مشروع تنمية البنية التحتية الحضرية في راجستان (RUIDP) جاغانلال بايروا، بعد الحادث. وقد اتُهم بيهاني بالاعتداء على المهندس المساعد. من جانبه، زعم بيهاني أن مسؤولين قاموا بصفعه أثناء نقاش حول قضايا مياه الشرب، مما أدى إلى كسر نظارته. وتقوم اللجنة حالياً بالتحقيق في ادعاءات الاعتداء والفساد.
