The Rock League, initiated by the Curling Group in 2025, marks a significant step for curling by introducing its debut professional season. This condensed preview will bring together six elite mixed-gender global franchises to compete in innovative formats, emphasizing a modern, entertainment-forward in-venue atmosphere.
Starting April 6 and running through April 12 in Toronto, the season arrives shortly after the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics, capitalizing on the sport's heightened visibility. CBC Sports, known for its extensive curling coverage, will deliver more than 40 hours of live streams across its digital platforms, including CBC Gem, cbcsports.ca, and the CBC Sports YouTube channel. National television will air the three playoff games, semifinals, and championship matches.
Chris Wilson, CBC's Executive Director of Sports and Olympics, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: "We're excited to share the inaugural season of Rock League with audiences across Canada, building on the momentum and excitement of Milano Cortina 2026. CBC Sports has a long history of curling coverage, and by providing a big national platform to this innovative new league, we hope to engage and entertain an even wider audience of fans."
Nic Sulsky, CEO of The Curling Group, highlighted the broadcast's importance: "This partnership with CBC Sports provides a national platform to introduce Rock League to Canadian fans and showcase the depth of talent competing in our inaugural season."
Details on team rosters, formats, and ticketing are available on the Rock League's website, with event scheduling to be released later this week. Further announcements regarding the broadcast team and full schedule are expected closer to the event.
