Celebrities praise AIFA airport in Santa Lucía

Several Mexican celebrities, including Carlos Bonavides and Luisito Comunica, have voiced admiration for the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) in Santa Lucía, highlighting its modernity and comfort. These positive opinions contrast with prior criticisms about its usage and location. Bonavides, a supporter of the AMLO government, defended the airport against detractors in 2024.

The Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), opened in 2022 in Santa Lucía, has received praise from several Mexican celebrities. Carlos Bonavides, known for his role as Huicho Domínguez, flew from AIFA in 2024 and dismissed criticisms about lack of flights. "The detractors of the president (AMLO) say there are no flights (...) but all are saturated," he stated. He denied payment for his opinion and urged objectivity: "We must see things objectively, know them to criticize them, because they talk about an airport as if they were in the 18th century. Don't criticize just for the sake of it, be objective".

Luisito Comunica shared a video presenting the airport as the "new CDMX airport". He highlighted the "beautiful" bathrooms, noted it feels empty because it's new, saved over 30,000 pesos on tickets to Cancún, and praised the flight screens as "good size" without obstructive ads.

Raymix, in 2023, described it as "very beautiful, well done" and convenient for those in northern CDMX: "It suits me because not everyone lives in southern CDMX, some of us are in the north and it's better to come here instead of crossing everything". He criticized the AICM for being "crooked".

Sabrina Sabrok revealed she always chooses AIFA for being modern, with bathrooms she likes and not cold. "Bad news came out about this place, but it's not like that, the place is beautiful, there are few people and you feel comfortable, you don't have to wait hours," she said.

Chef Aquiles Chávez posted a "pleasant surprise" after traveling from there.

Bonavides has supported the AMLO government before; in 2021, after losing his patrimony in a legal case over his wife's failed surgery that cost 10 million pesos, he asked the president for help to advance the judicial process, not money. He received a call from the Fiscalía afterward.
