Clínica Uros obtained Good Clinical Practices certification from INVIMA, enabling its services for clinical studies to international standards. The approval includes its new Research Ethics Committee.
The Colombian institution received the Favorable Concept of Certification in Good Clinical Practices from the National Institute for the Surveillance of Medicines and Food. This endorsement allows Clínica Uros to conduct medical research across all its areas under standards equivalent to those in the United States, Europe and Japan.
The national medical director of the Uros Business Group, Uriel Gutiérrez Velásquez, noted that patients in clinical studies gain access to specialized care and advanced exams at no cost. He added that travel to other cities is no longer necessary to join high-level trials.
The process started in 2020 with the creation of the Department of Research, Science and Innovation during the pandemic. The department director, Santiago Camacho Castro, explained that the certification ensures ethics, safety and scientific rigor in every protocol. The Ethics Committee, led by Tito Vladimir Polanía, will oversee participant well-being.
