Harambee Starlets coach Beldine Odemba on Thursday named a provisional 29-player squad to begin preparations for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco.
The players are expected to report to camp on Monday. The squad retains players from recent matches against Zambia and Lesotho and adds talents including Lilian Adhiambo and Elizabeth Muteshi.
Starlets will open their Group A campaign against hosts Morocco on July 26 before facing Senegal on July 30 and Algeria on August 3. Odemba said the team aims to reach at least the semifinals to secure a first appearance at the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil.
“Representing Kenya at WAFCON is a great honour. We aim to reach the semifinals because that step will open the door for us to participate. That is what we will fight for,” Odemba said.
