On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the World Economic Forum, Coca-Cola executives outlined expansion plans in Egypt to Egyptian ministers. These include opening a new factory in Alexandria and increasing the Cairo digital hub's staff from 170 to 450 by 2027. The hub supports the company's operations across 27 countries.
The meeting involved Egyptian Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib, Coca-Cola HBC CEO Zoran Bogdanovic, and Michael Goltzman, Senior Vice President for Global Policy and Sustainability at Coca-Cola.

The ministers highlighted the government's priorities in industrial localization and developing local supply chains, viewing multinational firms as key partners in boosting Egyptian industry's competitiveness.
Goltzman described Egypt as a 'pivotal centre' for the company's regional operations, praising its advanced industrial infrastructure, strong logistical capabilities, and qualified human resources. He affirmed Coca-Cola's dedication to long-term partnership and sustainable industrial growth in the Egyptian market.
In addition to the new Alexandria facility, the company recently launched a production line at an existing factory. Discussions also addressed cooperation in sustainable manufacturing and green growth, aligning with Egypt's wider economic development objectives.
