Conconcreto and the IDU inaugurated the Curved Bridge of Group five on the Avenida 68 trunk line in Bogotá. The structure enables dual TransMilenio buses to connect the Avenida de Las Américas with the Gold Museum. The initiative highlights sustainability and local job creation.
Conconcreto, together with Bogotá's Instituto de Desarrollo Urbano (IDU), inaugurated the Curved Bridge of Group five on the Avenida 68 trunk line. This marks the first contractor to complete a structural element in this strategic project for mobility in west Bogotá.
Group five includes vehicular and TransMilenio-exclusive bridges, a depressed cycle path, 1.1 kilometers of bike lane, and over 9,000 m² of public space. These features aim to enhance connectivity and urban environment quality.
Regarding functionality, Conconcreto stated that "with the enabling of the Curved Bridge, dual TransMilenio buses will be able to connect the Avenida de Las Américas with the Gold Museum, benefiting thousands of daily users and marking a sustainable and functional advance for Bogotá's mobility".
The project incorporates innovations such as living columns, which integrate natural vegetation to capture CO₂ and improve the local microclimate. Nicolás Jaramillo, president of Conconcreto, said: “This delivery reflects Conconcreto's commitment to engineering that transforms territories and improves people's quality of life. Each work is an opportunity to contribute to city development, generate employment, and strengthen trust between the public and private sectors”.
The inauguration was led by Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán, who highlighted that the execution created over 1,500 direct and indirect jobs, prioritizing local labor and national suppliers. Conconcreto plans to continue contributing its expertise in sustainability to establish the trunk line as a benchmark for modern urban infrastructure.
