Madrid's court of instruction number 49 has admitted complaints filed by PP and Vox against the public bailout of Air Europa. SEPI vice president Bartolomé Lora has been summoned as investigated for alleged administrative prevarication.
Judge José María Escribano admitted the complaints to processing on June 8, 2026. Lora, who headed the body that approved the 475 million euro loan in November 2020, will testify on July 3. The magistrate has requested from SEPI and FASEE all case documentation, including emails, reports and meeting minutes. The complaints claim Air Europa failed requirements such as absence of tax debts. PP argues the bailout was routed through an intermediary company and split into tranches to avoid European controls. The judge will decide on other possible suspects during the investigation.
