The Creamline Cool Smashers reclaimed their spot at the top of the Premier Volleyball League with a sweep of the Cignal Super Spikers in the best-of-three All-Filipino Conference finals on Thursday, April 23, at the packed Araneta Coliseum. They won the decisive match 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 16-25, 15-11 for a record-extending 11th PVL title. Finals MVP Bernadeth Pons led with a triple-double of 22 points, 25 excellent digs, and 15 excellent receptions.
In Manila, Philippines, the Creamline Cool Smashers demonstrated their prowess before a packed crowd at Araneta Coliseum. After missing the finals in the last three tournaments and seeing their All-Filipino five-peat end last season, they revived their dynasty with a sweep over Cignal.
Finals MVP Bernadeth Pons delivered an impressive triple-double with 22 points, 25 excellent digs, and 15 excellent receptions. She was supported by Tots Carlos with 18 points, Pangs Panaga with 10 points, and Jema Galanza with 12 points, including a pair of attacks in the title-clinching run.
In the fifth set, Creamline rallied from a 6-8 deficit on a 9-3 run. A Panaga block gave them a 13-10 lead, before Carlos added back-to-back points—an attack for championship point and a block on Vanie Gandler.
For Cignal, Vanie Gandler tallied a game-high 26 points while Erika Santos added 21 in the loss. This marks Creamline's seventh All-Filipino crown.
