Dhani Harrison and Nigel Godrich have formed the band Dragonflies. Their debut album is scheduled for release on Sept. 18 via Dark Horse Records/BMG.
The pair previewed the project with the lead single "Slower," which opens the album. A hand-drawn animated music video directed by Ruffmercy accompanies the track.
Harrison sings and plays guitar on the album, while Godrich handles production. The record includes percussion by Joey Waronker and string arrangements by David Campbell.
The longtime friends began collaborating after Harrison contacted Godrich during the COVID shutdown. They built songs from tape loops at Godrich’s Brixton studio.
