Mystery Jets have released a new single titled Soul River. The track comes from their upcoming seventh album and honors a family friend who died by suicide.
The indie rock band from Twickenham shared the song on June 15. It serves as a tribute to a cherished figure from Eel Pie Island described by the group as a guardian spirit of the community.
Blaine Harrison and the band said in a statement that the song celebrates a life cut short but one which lives on in our memory and our music. The single follows earlier previews Black Sage and the album title track.
The album A Hole To See The Sky Through is scheduled for release on August 21 via Fiction Records. It was recorded with producer Leo Abrahams and explores themes of freedom, forgiveness, trauma and wisdom.
The band has also announced a UK and Ireland tour beginning November 22 in Glasgow.
