Some royal rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside are now available following a major retheme. The update shifts the focus to Tiana and Naveen from The Princess and the Frog. Construction on remaining rooms continues through 2027.
Disney began refurbishing the royal rooms in the Magnolia Bend section of Port Orleans — Riverside in May 2025. Select rooms have reopened with new theming that positions guests as visitors in Tiana and Naveen’s home.
Key changes include vinyl wood-style flooring, lighter color palettes, updated furniture, and illuminated bayou murals featuring firefly lighting effects. A letter on the table explains the new backstory.
Some guests have expressed disappointment online, noting the rooms appear more similar to standard accommodations and may not justify the premium rate. Others have praised improved storage and efficient layout.
Work on additional rooms at the resort remains scheduled through August 2027.
