Dolby and LG unveil modular audio system for CES 2026

LG has partnered with Dolby to introduce the LG Sound Suite, a modular home audio system featuring Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology. The lineup includes the H7 soundbar, M7 and M5 wireless surround speakers, and W7 subwoofer, configurable in over two dozen ways up to a 13.1.7 channel setup. This marks the first integration of FlexConnect into a soundbar, with future support planned for select LG TVs.

LG and Dolby announced the LG Sound Suite ahead of CES 2026, a collection of modular speakers designed for flexible home audio setups. The system comprises the H7 soundbar, M7 and M5 wireless surround speakers, and the W7 subwoofer. These components can be arranged in more than two dozen configurations, ranging from simple pairs to comprehensive 13.1.7 channel surround sound home theaters.

The core innovation is Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, a technology that optimizes audio output regardless of speaker placement. It addresses challenges like limited outlet access or furniture arrangements, ensuring immersive sound from unconventional positions. For the first time, FlexConnect is incorporated into a soundbar through the H7, which serves as the primary device to deliver Dolby Atmos FlexConnect audio to any connected television.

LG plans a future software update to extend FlexConnect support directly to its premium televisions, including select 2025 models. Previously, TCL held exclusivity for this place-anywhere immersive speaker technology, but LG's entry expands its availability.

The announcement precedes CES 2026, scheduled for January 6 to 9 in Las Vegas, where the products will be showcased.
