Harry Kane scored in first-half stoppage time to give England a narrow victory over New Zealand in an international friendly at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
England made seven changes from their previous friendly against Japan. Jordan Pickford, Marc Guehi, Kobbie Mainoo and Morgan Rogers retained their places, while John Stones, Jarell Quansah, Djed Spence, Jordan Henderson, Marcus Rashford, Ollie Watkins and Kane started. Kane reached 79 goals for England with a flicked header from Spence’s cross in added time of the first half. The captain has now scored in 11 consecutive appearances for his country. New Zealand goalkeeper Max Crocombe denied Kane early on, while Dan Burn hit a post after the interval. Seventeen-year-old Rio Ngumoha came off the bench to become England’s youngest debutant since Jude Bellingham. England face Costa Rica in Orlando on Wednesday as preparations continue for the 2026 World Cup, where they open against Croatia on June 17.
